| The purpose of this course is to provide AFS airworthiness (maintenance) ASIs with the required knowledge to approve an operators incorporation of limits of validity into their maintenance program under Limit of Validity (widespread fatigue damage) rules 121.1115 and 129.115. This is part of the review of an operators maintenance program. The primary target audience for this course is AFS airworthiness maintenance inspectors of part 121/129 air carriers. The secondary target audience for this course is AFS international maintenance inspectors that provide oversight of part 121/129 air carriers. Prerequisite Knowledge At a minimum, ASIs participating in this training will have completed the first year of indoctrination training and one-year of experience as an inspector. They will be familiar with the concept of fatigue damage and the day-to-day surveillance of Air Carrier maintenance programs. This course may also be made available to industry. | |||
