Course needs to be revised.* The course objective is to provide new General Aviation Airworthiness (GA AW) Aviation Safety Inspectors with the knowledge to determine if GA operator's programs meet the regulatory requirements for certification and continue to meet the requirements during ongoing surveillance in the technical area of avionics and avionics test equipment. An important role in the oversight of an operator's maintenance program involves the maintenance and inspection of the avionics installed on the aircraft. GA airworthiness ASIs oversight responsibilities include: 1. Ensuring that required avionics equipment is approved. 2. Evaluating an operator's avionics test equipment policies and procedures and if appropriate, accepting them. 3. Conducting ongoing surveillance to ensure that operators continue to follow their accepted avionics test equipment procedures..
