This course explains the selection, appointment, orientation and training of Designated Engineering Representatives (DER). It describes the application process to become a DER, the appeal of FAA decisions, inter-office transfer of DER supervision. It also discusses the renewal, transfer, suspension, termination and reinstatement processes for DERs. Course Length: 2.5 Hours Target Audience(s): This training is required for all DER applicants prior to appointment as a DER. ODA Unit member applicants.
