The purpose of this training is to provide engineers with a foundational understanding of software and airborne electronic hardware (AEH) concepts and principles. Upon completion, students will be able to define key software and AEH terminology and explain how these elements support assurance processes and contribute to an applicants demonstration of compliance with FAA certification requirements. Participants will also be able to identify relevant FAA guidance materials and summarize the overall content of RTCA/DO-178C and DO-254. This course is intended to build upon conceptual knowledge and does not provide procedural instruction or task-specific guidance on certification job functions.
