This course covers the differences between RTCA DO-178B and DO-178C, Software Considerations in Airborne Systems and Equipment Certification, so that Aviation Safety Engineers (ASEs) can assess applicants' adherence to DO-178C and DO-330, Software Tool Qualification Considerations, for software assurance. It includes on-line lessons and instructor-graded assignments. MATERIALS: You must provide copies of DO-178C and DO-330, available at www.rtca.org. There is no charge to RTCA member organizations for electronic copies. FAA may log in with an existing individual account or follow instructions to create a new one. DO-178B, 331, 332, and 333 may be useful. Instructional methods include lectures, practical exercises, collaborative discussions, and assessments.
