This course explains the fireproof requirements for engine cowling in Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR) Part 25.1193 and the relationship to the fire protection requirements for other components per Part 25.867. This course also provides the definition of 'one nacelle diameter' for surfaces that must be considered when complying with Part 25.867. Upon completion of this course the student should be able to: Define the intent of Part 25.1193; Explain the service history leading to Part 25.1193 Amendments; Define the acceptable methods of compliance to Part 25.1193; Define the intent of Part 25.867; Explain the service history leading to Part 25.867 Amendments; Define the acceptable methods of compliance to Part 25.867; Explain the difference between the area that must be considered when demonstrating compliance to Part 25.867 for Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) & European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
