This course explains the requirements and related standards found in Part 33.28. This course also describes the evolution and structure of AC 33.28-3, the methods of compliance as defined by AC 33.28-3 in Chapters 2-16, and the areas of concern regarding AC 33.28-3. Upon completion of this course, the participant should be able to: Describe the evolution of AC 33.28-3; Identify the structure of AC 33.28-3; Describe the methods of compliance detailed in Chapters 2-16 of AC 33.28-3; Explain the importance of system verification and validation; Explain how the term 'essentially' clarifies single fault tolerance; Identify how the inclusion of specific reciprocating engines affects the current AC; and Identify two areas of concern for Engine Control System (ECS) failures specific to electronics. Internal Audience: This course is intended for AIR DER Managing Specialist and Engineering OMT members managing designees authorized in Propulsion.
