| The purpose of this course is to understand the current regulation, 14 CFR 25.251(b), and the applicants concerns in meeting the regulation. Students will learn about the current FAA policy, which uses a multi-tiered process to determine whether an external modification is still within the original 25.251(b) compliance finding. Students will also learn the steps that are used to aid the FAA in making this determination, as documented in an Equivalent Levels of Safety (ELOS) Issue Paper (IP). Internal Audience: This course is intended for AIR DER Managing Specialist and Engineering OMT members managing designees authorized in Flight Test.
