| Course will provide an understanding how personnel actions fully comply with all current and applicable laws, rules and regulations for those individuals entitled to Veterans' Preference, including veterans and their spouses, widows/widowers and mothers. Who meets the definition of veteran; who is entitled to Veterans' Preference in employment in the competitive service and in the excepted service; and the circumstances under which Veterans' Preference applies, including competitive appointments, noncompetitive appointments and merit promotion under the Veterans Employment Opportunities Act. Equip HR employees with the information, understanding and ability to correctly apply the provisions of the FLSA. Understand the general principles of FLSA and the dministrative procedures by which covered work time must be compensated; how hours of work and scheduling of work become important entitlements; how to treat time spent traveling away from the official duty station that occurs outside regular working hours; and the responsibilities of those who are to assure the FLSA provisions are not | |||
