| UNDER DEVELOPMENT: This course provides an overview of the regulatory and technical requirements for the certification of fuselage door systems on normal category airplanes. It addresses the transition from prescriptive requirements in 14 CFR 23.783 to performance-based compliance under 14 CFR 23.2250 and ASTM F3061-23b. The course covers key terminology, door system states (closed, latched, and locked). The requirements are intended to protect against inadvertent door opening in flight. It also introduces the three-tier risk categorization framework (Category A, B, and C) used to evaluate door system design and compliance. | |||
