This workshop is made up of three segments. Segment 1: NWP Operations, This segment describes the NWP systems and provides hands-on experience with the software utilities necessary to keep NWP in an operational state. These applications include: Monitor and Control (M&C), Automated System Loader (ASL), Identity Manager, Adaptation Manager, Test Harness, Network Configuration Management, Segment 2: NWP Software, This segment provides an in-depth look at the NWP software architecture. Students will examine the contents of NWP code repositories and critical software functions in hands-on lab exercises. The segment also covers troubleshooting techniques to diagnose system and software errors. Segment 3: NWP Software Maintenance, This segment covers best practices in maintaining NWP software, utilizing the Software Engineering Environment (SEE). In addition, this segment provides hands-on lab exercises on specific tasks for maintaining NWP. These tasks include: Backing up AWD Preference Sets, Indexing captured data to create a test scenario, Changing the publishing rates of mosaic processes, Merging PG-GFI updates, Modifying adaptation to accommodate radar deployment change, Adding AWDs, Adding ADS Servers.
