BB-WBT 2022-12-02
The FAA ATOP program provides automated, enhanced functionality and support to the Air Traffic Controllers (ATC) for Oceanic, Offshore, and Transitional Airspace. Upon completion of this course, the student will perform practical management of the ATOP system in accordance with FAA technical documentation. The OOPS for ATOP course will cover an overview of the ATOP system: theory of operations, normal operations, operator functions, software loading and management, failure detection, hardware/software diagnostics, system start-up, system shutdown, system re-start, troubleshooting procedures, and daily certification procedures. Currently, certified SOC personnel and those who must become proficient with the system prior to daily operational use will use the course as an update to previous procedural, equipment, and software knowledge. By meeting the specified objectives, students will gain satisfactory knowledge of the OOPS for the ATOP System. In-lesson knowledge checks, end-of-lesson quizzes, and labs reinforce training concepts and provide learners with self-assessment. For more information about exams in this course, see the Special Instructions in FIST.
