This course provides a combination of hardware and software training for the FAA Airway Transportation System Specialist in the operation and maintenance of Motorola C3 VHF / FM related equipment. Training includes system overview, operation, periodic and corrective maintenance, encryption - decryption, troubleshooting, and software configuration. Motorola equipment covered: APX Software, APX-8500 Consolette, Remote Console Unit MC-2500, KVL-5000, APX-6000 handheld radios, APX-6500 Mobile, Quantar and GTR-8000 Repeater, Portable Repeater PDR-3500, Un-interruptable Power Supply (UPS), and other ancillary NRCS equipment. An MDT is optional and is not required to complete the class.
