| This class has a prerequisite of FAA49960069 (Electrical Safety - Qualified Person). This class covers the nature and hazards of electricity; Safety-related work practices, procedures and other personal safety requirements as identified in 29 CFR 1910.269. This course adds a site-specific look at working with distribution equipment, lines and other equipment used in the Alaskan region. This training permits qualified employees to receive additional training consistent with added safe work practices which shall include, but not be limited to: training requirements; medical and first aid requirements; pre-job briefing requirements; hazardous energy control; electrical PPE use and application; use of hand and portable power tools; use of live line tools; working on or near energized parts; de-energizing lines and equipment; safe work practices for high voltage and high power testing; communication facilities;mechanical equipment; overhead lines; material handling and storage; tree trimming operations; underground electrical installations; power generation; and special conditions. | |||
