The Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Specialist course is designed for facility QC Managers and staff, Service Area, and Headquarters (HQ) Safety personnel who perform Quality Control (QC) functions, as well as, provide an overview of Quality Assurance (QA). This course covers the basic knowledge of the Safety Management System (SMS), unique QC knowledge, and the three major functions of the QC specialist: Ensuring Compliance, Responding to Data Requests, and Handling of Incidents and Accidents. Students will receive hands-on instruction using a standalone training mode of CEDAR to access and complete several SMS reports (e.g., System Service Review), access and navigate Internal and External Compliance Verification, and enter findings and mitigation in the appropriate QC tool. Students will also learn the fundamentals of handling data requests and how to prepare an accident package.
