This web-based training course explains the Acceptable Level of Risk (ALR) procedure and process. The course will help the Air Traffic Control Specialist to understand and apply ALR to commercial space launches and reentries. The training covers the meaning of an Aircraft Hazard Area (AHA)/Transitional Hazard Area (THA), the roles/responsibilities of air traffic facilities and the requirements/procedures/process of implementing ALR. Topics include ALR, AHA/THA Risk Areas, THA crossing restrictions and route identification, launch/reentry operations that do not have THAs, airports within THAs, and hotline activation. ------------------------------------------------------------------ The target audience for this training includes Developmental/Certified Professional Controllers (CPCs), Operations Supervisors, Operations Managers, Traffic Management Coordinators, Supervisor Traffic Management Coordinators, Staff Support Specialists, and Military Operations Specialists and others at facilities affected by Commercial Space operations. Air Traffic Control System Command Center National Traffic Management Specialists, National Traffic Management Officers, and National Operations Managers, etc. are also part of the audience.
