This course focuses on the roles and responsibilities of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) operations. Including general UAS concepts, different types of UAS personnel, roles of remote flyer's, such as commercial and recreational operators. The course emphasizes the understanding of airspace classifications, regulations, specialized operations, and security and risk considerations that are crucial to UAS management. In addition to, the importance of proper phraseology, clear communication in UAS operations, responsibilities of Operations Supervisors/Controllers in Charge (OS/CIC), procedures for reporting suspicious UAS activity and covers Special Governmental Interest (SGI) UAS notifications, and procedures for handling UAS operations that are of particular interest to government entities, often tied to National Security.
