This course will offer new environmental specialist, airspace specialists, and mangers within the ATO a basic understanding of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and how it applies to Air Traffic actions. The course will outline specific NEPA nuances with regard to Air Traffic procedure design including arrival routing, departure routing, RNAV procedures and routing, as well as airspace design including Class A, B, C, D and E designations, all classes of Special Use Airspace (SUA), and Military Training Routes (MTRs). for those not familiar with NEPA, the courses briefly gives a history and breakdown of the NEPA process, and the tools utilized by the Air Traffic community in their environmental analyses.
