| This course provides training for Aviation Safety Engineers (ASEs) and other certification personnel on determining the applicable airworthiness standards and establishing the certification basis for major changes to the approved type design of aeronautical products. Participants will learn to identify affected areas of the product, determine whether the proposed change is significant, and apply the appropriate amendment level of airworthiness standards to those areas. The course also covers how to apply the regulations in effect at the time of application and, when appropriate, justify the use of earlier amendments when compliance with the latest standards would not contribute materially to safety or would be impractical. Instructional methods include lectures, collaborative discussions, practical exercises, and assessments. Internal Audience: This course is intended for Aircraft Certification Employees.
