| This course number is to be used to document Overhead Hoists Signal Person training. This training is for employees, who, as part of job assignments, will be providing signaling, or flagging of an overhead hoist or giving direction as to where and what will be lifted must be qualified when: Point of operation not in full view of operator and/or View of direction of travel is obstructed and/or Site specific safety conditions. Candidate must pass written or oral practical examinations to be qualified. Employees adequately meeting course requirements will be deemed a qualified Signal Person and have certification valid for five-years. Signal person practical examination requires the candidate to demonstrate proficiency in giving both hand signals and voice commands. Ablility to describe in application and understanding of types of signals. Ability to describe equipment operations and limitations, swinging and stopping loads, and boom deflection. Upon completion of this training, employee should maintain training certificate and provide a copy to their supervisor and/or training POC to be entered into their eLMS learning history. | |||
